Overview
The Ha Giang – Cao Bang Jeep Tour 6 Days 5 Nights is our most complete Northern Vietnam road adventure — the legendary Ha Giang Loop, the hidden wonders of Cao Bang, and a final day at beautiful Ba Be Lake, all from a private Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with your own experienced driver. You simply relax and enjoy the scenery, which makes this big 6-day journey comfortable for non-riders, couples, families, and older travelers.
This Ha Giang Cao Bang jeep tour covers the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark, Lung Cu Flag Tower, the legendary Ma Pi Leng Pass, a boat trip on the emerald Nho Que River, then crosses into Cao Bang for the Khau Coc Cha Pass, the Pac Bo historical site, the spectacular Ban Gioc Waterfall, Nguom Ngao Cave, God's Eye Mountain and craft villages — before finishing with Phia Oac National Park and a relaxing boat trip on Ba Be Lake.
Our jeeps are open-top for big-sky views in fair weather and quickly fitted with a soft-top and blankets when it turns cool or rainy, so the tour runs comfortably all year round. Expect a well-paced route with plenty of photo stops and rest breaks, cozy homestays, farmstays and hotels, authentic local food, and friendly cultural evenings.

Guest Reviews
"The Ha Giang Cao Bang jeep tour was the highlight of our Vietnam trip. My partner doesn't ride, so the private jeep was perfect — Ma Pi Leng and the Nho Que River were unreal, and ending on Ba Be Lake was so peaceful. Ban Gioc Waterfall was stunning."
"Incredible 6-day route and beautifully organised. Travelling with kids, the open-air jeep and relaxed pace were ideal — lots of stops, great food, and a professional driver. The Skywalk, Nho Que boat and Ba Be Lake were must-dos."
"Best multi-day road trip I've done, and so comfortable in the jeep. Cao Bang surprised me the most — caves, craft villages, and Ban Gioc — and the final boat trip on Ba Be Lake was the perfect way to end. I felt safe the whole way."
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — that's exactly who the jeep tour is for. You ride as a passenger in a private Jeep Wrangler Rubicon with an experienced driver, so there's no motorbike skill required. Over 6 days the pace is relaxed, making it ideal for non-riders, couples, families with children, and older travelers.
Not at all. The jeep follows the same route and stops at the same places — Lung Cu, Ma Pi Leng, the Nho Que River boat trip, Ban Gioc Waterfall, Nguom Ngao Cave, God's Eye Mountain and Ba Be Lake — with the same walks and activities. The only difference is comfort: you stay warm and dry, take photos the whole way, and arrive each evening relaxed.
Each private Jeep Wrangler Rubicon seats up to 4 guests plus the driver, and the whole jeep is yours — you won't share with strangers. For larger groups we simply add more jeeps so everyone travels together.
We can arrange a comfortable overnight sleeper bus or private van from Hanoi to Ha Giang for Day 0. The tour ends at Ba Be Lake, where there's a sleeper bus back to Hanoi (about 6 hours) — we'll help you book the return when you book the tour.
Pack light and plan for changing mountain weather: a warm layer, a light rain jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, comfortable shoes, swimwear (seasonal swims), a small day bag, your camera/phone and charger, and some cash. No riding gear needed — the jeep keeps you covered.
Ha Giang and Cao Bang range from about 8–25°C depending on the season, and are cooler in winter (November–February). The jeep tour runs all year: the open top is perfect in fair weather, and the soft-top with blankets keeps you comfortable when it's cool or raining. If conditions are ever unsafe, your driver will adjust the route.
The 6-day tour adds a relaxing final day at Ba Be Lake (Phia Oac National Park, bamboo forest and a lake boat trip) and a gentler pace. If you're shorter on time but still want Ha Giang plus Cao Bang and Ban Gioc Waterfall, see the Ha Giang – Cao Bang Jeep Tour 5 Days.
The tour ends at Ba Be Lake around 4:00 PM on Day 6, in good time for the evening sleeper bus to Hanoi. Once you have a confirmed travel date, book as early as you can — most guests book 1–3 months ahead, and jeep availability is limited, so early booking helps us arrange everything properly.
