Returning from Cao Bang, and booking ahead

This tour ends in Cao Bang City, not back in Ha Giang. From Cao Bang you can take an overnight sleeper or a limousine back to Hanoi, about 7 hours, from 450,000đ one way per person. We arrange this return transfer as an add-on. Ask us for the full timetable.

Once you have a confirmed travel date, we recommend booking as soon as possible. Most guests book 1 to 3 months in advance. Jeep availability is limited, so early booking helps us arrange everything properly.

Good questions

Ha Giang Cao Bang FAQ

What is the difference between the 5 day and 6 day tour?
Both cross the same two regions and finish at Ban Gioc. The 6 day route is more relaxed: it splits the long mountain drives over an extra night and adds the Pac Bo historic site near Cao Bang. The 5 day route is the same crossing at a slightly faster pace.
Can I do this tour if I cannot ride a motorbike?
Yes. The whole expedition is in a private 4×4 with your own driver. No riding or driving is needed, and the remote Cao Bang roads are far more comfortable from inside a jeep.
How do we return from Cao Bang to Hanoi?
The tour ends in Cao Bang City. From there you can take an overnight sleeper or a limousine back to Hanoi, about 7 hours. We arrange this as an add-on. There is no direct pickup to Cao Bang at the start, the tour always begins in Ha Giang.
What is included in the price?
Your private jeep and driver, fuel and fees, homestay and farmstay accommodation with a dorm bed (upgradeable), most meals, entrance tickets across both Geoparks, the Nho Que boat and Ban Gioc visit, water and 24/7 support. The buses and travel insurance are not included.
Is the tour private or shared with other guests?
Every jeep tour is fully private. The price is the total for your group, and you set the pace and the photo stops.
When is the best time for the Cao Bang crossing?
It runs all year. Ban Gioc Waterfall is fullest and most powerful from around August to October after the rains, while spring brings green hills and mild weather. Tell us your dates and we will tell you what to expect.
